The Office of Communications & Marketing (UCM) is an in-house team of strategic marketers, designers, and communicators who bring this message to life through advertising, marketing, communications, and public relations activities.


What we do:

  • oversee university brand standards
  • develop marketing and advertising initiatives to enhance enrollment at both the graduate and undergraduate levels
  • set social media strategy for the University-level accounts and offers guidance to department-level account holders.
  • serve as the official University communications hub providing messaging to external and internal audiences on issues of strategic importance
  • distribute news items related to university activities and facilitate media contacts and public relations

  • If you have a project that you would like the University Marketing and Communications Team to assist you with, submit your request here:

  • The UCM team can help you get the word out about public events.  Let us know about your event as far in advance as possible. 

    Getting started: Fill out the with the basic information about your event. We can list your event on the master promotional calendar and provide advice on potential public relations (PR), social media, and other strategies. 


     

    University Event Calendar Listing (including ticketed events):  The easiest way to showcase your event on the master promotional calendar on the Localist platform is to fill out the UCM Work Request form.

  • Internal Announcements: SFU streams internal announcements on its intranet homepage (my.francis). Employees can add an item anytime through the  form below (First-time users: Ask a UCM team member for the password or check the weekly Campus News email)  Internal Announcement Submission 


     

    Weekly Campus News Round-Up Email:  Items from the internal announcements are shared weekly via Campus News distributed by the UCM team. You can also suggest items to be shared by submitting a .

  • The UCM team manages SFU's official social media channels and helps departments understand the guidelines surrounding departmental-level social media accounts. 

    All SFU department or organization social media accounts must follow the University's Social Media Policy, including being registered with University Communications and Marketing. 


    • Registering official accounts: To register an existing account or start a new one apply here: . Please wait for approval from the UCM department before establishing a new account(s).
    • New user registration: If you’ve been granted access to an existing SFU social media account, please complete the following form to document your role.

Thomas Grove Awarded DoD Cyber Scholarship

Ƶ to Host 43rd Annual Red Mass / Law Day on April 25

SFU will host its 43rd Annual Red Mass / Law Day on Friday, April 25, 2025, inviting the legal community and public to reflect on the civic and spiritual responsibilities of law and service. This year’s theme, “The Constitution’s Promise: Out of Many, One,” emphasizes unity and shared purpose rooted in the U.S. Constitution. Marianne Corr, Vice President and General Counsel at the University of Notre Dame, will serve as the keynote speaker.

Ƶ discloses that marketing and recruitment materials designed and deployed by Collegis Education, a third-party provider, are delivered on behalf of SFU to support enrollment growth and optimize marketing efforts. Collegis staff, identified by their titles and affiliations, work under the direction of Ƶ. This disclosure aligns with regulatory requirements under 34 CFR § 668.43, ensuring transparency regarding the roles and contributions of Collegis Education in SFU’s outreach initiatives.
